Epoch announced a $4.25 million seed round and launched a self-service compliance tool for small and mid-sized businesses, initially focused on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), ESG Today reported on 26 October 2026.
Epoch says businesses can start with existing supplier information and use AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, to organise data and assess supply-chain risks. It says its technology identifies supplier facilities, locates plots where raw materials originate and assesses deforestation and legality risks. The platform can generate Due Diligence Statements with supporting evidence for submission to the EU Information System (TRACES), according to the company. ESG Today says the EUDR requires companies placing products including cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy and wood on the EU market to demonstrate that they are deforestation-free and legally produced. The outlet reports that the regulation will apply to large and medium-sized operators from 30 December 2026, and to most micro and small operators from 30 June 2027.
The round was led by Burnt Island Ventures and Sand River, bringing Epoch’s total funding to $6.26 million, ESG Today reported. Epoch says it will invest the new capital in its product, infrastructure and commercial team.
