The Wielkopolska Regional Assembly adopted Poland’s first renewable-energy acceleration-area plans on 26 October 2026, the government announced on gov.pl. They cover approximately 105.4 hectares for photovoltaic installations in Lwówek, Rawicz, Słupca and Złotów.

Once the plans take effect, investors will be able to use accelerated procedures, the government says. The Polish government says environmental protection requirements and public participation will remain in place, and a simplified environmental procedure may be used for an individual project.

The Polish government says the regional director for environmental protection will have 45 days to review projects of at least 150 kW for compliance with the area plan and eligibility for the accelerated procedure. It says that if the director does not object by decision within that period, the environmental stage will end and the investor may seek the remaining required permits. The government says investors must also incorporate measures in the plans to prevent or limit potential environmental harm.

The government estimates that earlier planning and environmental analysis could shorten preparation of a large solar farm to approximately one to two years, compared with approximately three to four years through the standard route when planning procedures and a full environmental impact assessment are required. The Polish government says actual timing will depend in part on project specifications, the completeness of documentation, obtaining a construction permit and the grid-connection process.
